Intelligence

In the ?Support/OM Intel Files? directory/folder, you will find BdU Grid Maps for the IO / North Atlantic and Black Sea. You will also find addition Intelligence documents that support operations in the IO.

Know problems & issues

1.Because of a design feature that prevents ships from spawning within 20km of ownship, stay clear of all major US/UK ports.

2. ?WARNING? if you decide to ?start? a campaign ?in port? your system is going to take a ?major? FPS hit. Strongly recommend that you start ?at sea? vice
?in port?

3.There is no ?harbor traffic? in any of the US/UK ports. This is a design feature since in ?real life? U-boats didn?t cruise into New York Harbor.

4.When using the snorkel on a U-boat, CO2 will continue to build up and you will have to surface from time to time to refresh your oxygen supply.

5.One of the problems with ?stock? SH4 is the way it treats the ?detection? of neutral shipping (i.e. it basically ignores them). This behavior became unacceptable from a gameplay point of view during the development of the early war combat operations. Therefore there are ?no neutrals? in OM. It will be up to the player to determine if a ship needs to be engaged or not. During the early phases of the war these normally neutral ships will remain unarmed. Also from review of the records, Uboat captains sink supposed ?neutrals? during their early combat patrols

6.Have created within the limitations of SH4 game engine a semi-historically recreation of the shipping / convoy lanes used during WWII. In reference to the convoys, in RSRDC, I was able to recreate with historically accuracies 1055 convoys from 1942 to 1945, however with over 3100 + convoys with 80000 + ships it is not possible to do the same in OM. Therefore all the major / minor convoys have been ?generically? recreated with a correct ?average? makeup of merchants and escort for the different time periods.

7.WARNING

When you return to port your sub "WILL NOT" have it's torpedo's auto reloaded.
You will have to load the torpedo yourself. This is to ensure that the "wrong" torpedoes are "not" loaded on your sub.



8.There are certain files I don't change because of mod compatibility. One of those files is command.cfg which controls the snorkel. You can make the following changes in the command.cfg to toggle the snorkel

10.Conning Towers / Turms

Unlike SH3, Turmumbau (Conning Towers) cannot be upgraded manually, but are coded to upgrade on certain dates within the *.upcge files. The only U-boats that are programmed for this upgrade are the Type VIIC, Type IXB and Type IXC. This is the schedule for the different subs

However you will have to ?earn? this upgrade, there is a condition where you have to have had at least one patrol that was considered a good patrol. IE, earn more renown then the minimum on the first patrol rating. Just so ever one understands, besides completing the primary objective of patrolling a defined area for the proscribed time, there is a ?hidden? objective that requires you to sink any where from 1000 to 10000 tons per patrol. So remember this, ever time you report in and get a new assignment you get another ?hidden? objective in it.

11.KM Grids: As the locations of the objectives in the OM campaign aren't 100% accurate either, in about 1/3 of the missions the objective location isn't in the right grid (although they are never far apart).

The grid is only really inaccurate in weirdly shaped grids, which are AM, AN and AO, and small sections of AD, AJ, AK, BF and CH. All other grids are pretty much on the correct location.

SPECIAL NOTE:


During testing of RFB 1.52 and operational game play of Operation Monsun Patch 3 and above, a visual detection issue with stock Silent Hunter 4 was discovered. Under a defined set of conditions, the game will consistently fail to report certain ships within visual range even though the player can see these ships. There may be cases where the player?s submarine is within 1000 yards / meters of a contact without the game generating a visual contact report. The causes of this issue are as follows:

- The values used in the ?Visual? section of Sensors.cfg
- The true position of the ship from the Sub
- The date of the mission
- The latitude and longitude of the player?s submarine

What does this mean to the user?

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere (Latitude 25 degrees north or above) in the winter (November, December January), the game may not generate the ship/s location on the navigation and attack maps. The periscope?s ability to stay locked on a ship that is located clockwise from approximately bearing 280 true to bearing 050 true from the sub will be reduced to short periods of around 20 seconds before disconnecting. Once the ship in question moves south of the sub?s position the game will then allow unaffected auto TDC lock. It should be noted that the further north you go, the larger the non-detection area becomes. However, if you are in the same location in the summer (May, June, and July) you may not see this issue at all.

If you are on the equator you will see all contacts no matter what the date is.

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, the reverse of the effect in the Northern Hemisphere applies in the winter (latitude 25 degrees south or below). From June to August the game may not generate a ship?s given location on the navigation and attack maps. The periscope?s ability to stay locked on a ship that is located clockwise from bearing 110 true to bearing 250 true from the sub will be reduced to the above-mentioned period of approximately 20 seconds. Once the ship in question moves north of the sub?s position the system will then allow unaffected auto TDC lock. It should be noted that the further south you go the larger the non-detection area becomes. In addition, as with the Northern Hemisphere if you are in the same location in the summer (November, December, and January) you may not see this issue at all.

With the addition of the NYGM AI Visual Sensor Mod and Submarine Visual Sensor Mod, this issue has been significantly magnified. Therefore, the player will have to act like a real captain and actually look through the periscope and conduct 360-degree scans to confirm the location and/or number of the ships instead of having all ships instantly and magically appear in real time. The NYGM Submarine Visual Sensor Mod's unintended result of reducing the real time satellite ability of the submarine AI to display the ships on your navigation map down to the meter/yard and the degree of ships the player doesn't even know are there adds to the ?realistic uncertainty? of RFB?s game play. When using Silent Hunter 4?s ?automatic targeting? option, the player will still have to work for every sinking, which is another selling point for those who want the auto TDC but disliked its 1000% accuracy.

To vypadá velice zajímavě pokud se k tomu dodělají některé přístavy a přidáme mod na ponorky typu II a VII tak to bude slušná SH 3 kampaň , hned se do toho pustím stačí upavyt

No předpokládám(a doufám), že to obsahovat II a VII nebude ba dokonce odstraní (znemožní použití) XVIII. Nicméně pokud to dopadne dobře UbM dostává novej rozměr.

Vy jste mne vůbec nepochopily já vůbec nemluvil o tichém oceánu ale o Evropě , začít v roce 1939 začínat typem II nebo jinou ponorkou ze začátku války třeba dodělat i typ I který je velmi podobný typu VII ale s jedním šroubem a postupně se vypracovat v žebříčku kapitánů a ponorek znovu bojovat proti královskému námořnictvu pořádat vlčí smečky přepadat přístavy a jiné radovánky známé z SH 3 ale nyní v mnohem lepším grafickém kabátku .¨
A samovřejmě odstranit ponorky typu 18 začaly se sice stavět dvě U 796 a U 797 ale ani jedna se nedodělala.

Podle toho co o tomto modu píší jeho autoři tak evropské základny v něm obsaženy budou např. Lorient  ale až od roku 1943 a to jen s ponorkami typu IX C a IX D2 ale jak víme tak mody na starší ponorky pro UBM již jsou tak editace samotných kariér a přístavů by nemněla být problémem a na ponorku typu 21 se může použít skin z té 18 stejně to XXI protože nikdo přesně neví jak by XVIII vlastně vypadala. Popřípadě pokud má někdo jakékoli fotografie 18
Tak je poskitněte je to jediná ponorka o které nevím jak vypadala dík.

Ponorky jsou bezpečnější než letadla...důkazem tohoto tvrzení budiž fakt, že je mnohem více letadel pod vodou, než ponorek ve vzduchu.

chytne...chytne.... jako už mám toho FileFrontu plný zuby. RFB 1.5 jsem sosnul na první klik ..... Operaci Monsun,
RSRD + ještě jeden nějaký další mod se mi nepodařilo stáhnout ani po zvráceně masochistické 3,5 hodinové klikací
orgii ( do 1:45 ráno )  Mad  Mad  Mad  Mad  Mad

Budu vděčný pokud nějaký dobrodinec bude obětovat chvili času a upne někam na lepší flek alespoň ten Monsun, já už na ten Filefront nemám čas ani nervy, díky moc  Wink
